    The long history of the Montresor family boasts illustrious ancestors, like the Count Claude de Montresor, the prime counsellor of Duke D'Orleans in France in 1600 (his writings, "Memoirs", dating back to 1663, are considered of great interest).   • Tasting notes

    Deep ruby red in colour. On the nose it displays exuberant aromas of almond and cinnamon. Dry on the palate with a very pleasant velvety taste and well-rounded tannins. Very rich in flavours of cherry, musk, spices and wood. The finish is quite long.

  • Viticultural notes

    In 1969, Montresor arrived in the province of Quebec on the Capo Miseno ship. At that time, Giorgio Montresor was at the head of this astonishing Veneto estate. The Montresor family has since captured the hearts of Quebecers with its Amarone and Valpolicella Ripasso and hasn’t ceased elevating the Veneto wine category to greater heights. Incidentally, the Amarone has become a must for the Holiday Season for many families in Quebec.

  • Winemaking notes

    Traditional vinification system of red wines. The wine is fermented in barrels containing the Amarone pomaces. Only after the luscious flavours of Amarone have been imparted to the wine, it is allowed to further age for 16 months in French and American oak casks and small barrels.
