The 2015 Pouilly-Vinzelles les Quarts comes from the top of the slope, the vines between 45 to 80 years old. It has a complex bouquet with fresh red apples rather than green, orange zest, jasmine and broom. I appreciate the way the aromatics gradually spread their wings here. The palate is tensile on the entry with a keen thread of acidity. This is very well balanced, taut and linear but with more depth than some of the other 2015s from the domaine. From vines between 45 and 80 years old, Les Quarts is a beautiful wine this year. It has a bouquet of poached pear and crème pâtissière, and an intense, complex and powerful palate impression. There is lovely depth, minerality and intensity. This is a very serious wine with a low pH of 3.1 despite the warmth and ripeness of the year.
