Introducing Domaine Chapel

Domaine M & C Lapierre is incredible Beaujolais. So incredible we sell out every year. This leaves us with a conundrum each vintage, as we simply do not get enough wine to satisfy the demand. To solve this problem we spent several days in Beaujolais looking for another partner to satisfy the thirst for elegant, juicy, mineral wine. We complied a comprehensive list of well-regarded producers, but after days of visiting and tasting at several Domaine nothing quite lived up to the quality we receive year in and out from Lapierre. This trip was not about settling we needed to find something special. On the last night in the region Mathieu Lapierre and his wife Katherine introduced us to Domaine Chapel, who better to introduce us to the next wave in the region? If you love Beaujolais you need to try this!

Made at Lapierre. Supple and ripe with red cherry and spice notes. There’s some tannin here. Fine-grained with good acidity, showing lovely savouriness. Really elegant and well defined: a new style of Juliénas?
