Crimson in colour with purple hues. A rich and dense aroma of Satsuma plum and raspberries mingle with sweet spice, chocolate hints and savoury tones. The palate offers rich, sweet and spicy fruit in balance with velvety yet youthfully austere tannins. A complex, medium to full bodied wine showing hints of mocha and vanilla, which flow through to the lengthy, fruitful, pepper and spice finish.
2013 was a vintage of highs and lows. Fortunately, the highs were the quality of grapes and the lows were smaller yields due to extremely low rainfall during winter and spring. Overall, the quality is high with intense colour and flavour, ripe tannins and acidity that surpassed expectations.
Valley Floor Shiraz grapes were grown on vines ranging from 9 to 100 years old.
The Barossa Valley is famous for its viticulture, history and winemaking dating back to the 1840s. At its heart is the Valley Floor, a highly-prized strip of prime viticultural land which is the very foundation and forms the essence of this wine. A true taste of the Barossa.

Part sourced from the late (Mar ?15) Ron Schild's vineyard, but will continue with son Kevin growing the grapes. It is full-flavoured in good Barossa style, with restrained alcohol in that context; plum and blackberry provide the base, ripe tannins and subtle oak finish the package.See detailed press review
